Day five: into the Great Smoky Mountains

Today we aim for the park proper. From Asheville we will head back to the Parkway and continue south towards the Smokies. We plan on making a side trip to Maggie Valley based on the recommendation of someone we ran into at home. From there we head into the park proper and set up camp at Balsam Mountain Campground.
