Learning HTML -- or teaching HTML

Web

Ennie wants to learn HTML -- or web construction in general. It's an interesting thing. For one thing it's an easy thing, HTML is a very simple markup language with only a few constructs: tags and attributes. It's all in how you put it it together. The hard thing is looking at a web browser and seeing how it all comes together. There's so many layers that get between the HTML markup and what you see that it can get hard to see past all of the complexity to see how simple it really is. The first question was how editing is like Word. It's a hard question to answer (at least for me) since you first need to understand how simple it is. To bring in something complex up front only makes the simple thing complex. Many things are like that.<html><body>Now let's start!</body></html>
