We have another good crop of cards today — mainly from Great Britain this time around.
But before getting to that, let’s get to some history with this card from FL8MM:
You can’t get FL8 calls any more. FL8 used to be French Somaliland. (Hence the F in there) This has since turned into the nation that goes by the same name as the city Maga resided it: Djibouti. It got its independence from France in 1977, five years after the QSO.
Another interesting one is a SWL card:
1933. Back when cars still had magnetos. Magnetos are old-school ignition for engines. Very simple and reliable. It’s still used for aviation engines.
Another cool pair are the two from G3BID:
– and –
One in his regular QTH, one from the car. :-)
Lastly, I just like this one:
I just love the picture of Edna, the XYL. (XLY is eX Young Lady – no matter how old or young your wife is the XYL. I’m just OM – Old Man.)
Last — just because we’ve been there. Milton Keynes. En and I were there on our honeymoon. Well, for a day. It’s an odd town known for their roundabouts. It’s a completely designed city.
