Trajectory

The company I'm at just announced a mandatory "vacation" right around the holidays as a cost cutting measure.Sure, that'll cut a bit of cost, but what's the big picture? The past is prologue; unless you change the direction you're moving, what can be expected in the future? The trajectory we are on right now is exactly what got us where we are. You have to evaluate where you are, where you were and where you want to go. You can't be arrogant and think you know it all -- the world has just proved you wrong after all.As a rule I wouldn't make announcements like this without starting to address the problems that got us here. An email with "furlough" being all but written does wonders for morale, but not in a way that you probably want to move it.I've not noticed any changes. More and more people are leaving -- the wisdom of the crowd. Collectively I'm not getting good vibes.Of course, this isn't anything that's affecting how I do things -- my mind is already made up and this is just piling on.
