Luck

Going back in time a couple years right when Insurance.com had just been acquired there was a really good chance that I would relocate down to the Bay Area.QuinStreet, the acquiring company, is located right between San Francisco and San Jose in the bland city of Foster City. It's nice but bland.Honestly I was looking forward to it in many ways, the freedoms of San Francisco proper was clearly alluring to me in many ways. The expense of the city was a hard pill to swallow though. That combined with the strangeness of the state of California were a turn off. I was ready to go though.I'm on my way back from a trip out to a sister group down in Cupertino -- much further down the peninsula. This is the second time in a few months. Last time it was way too hot. This time was a lot better... Tough the lack of green is still a drag.

When I joined Amazon back in May it was a shock. I really had never thought about moving to Seattle at all. It was a jump in head firsthand hope for the best.Luck has a lot to do with things I suppose.I think Seattle is the right place for me. It is greener than further south... It has a lot of the same freedoms that I was craving from San Fran. It is a liberal city, but has more freedoms than Cali. The houses are more affordable. It seems more open to outsiders despite the Seattle Freeze.Last time made me happy where I wound up. I know it would have worked out anyway, but I think it's better now. :-)

Keep your eyes open to what possibilities exist. Luck is the possibility. It's up to you to make the most of what life can offer.
