We just got back from a bit of camping at Moran State Park up on Orcas Island.
It was cold. It was beautiful. It was awesomesauce.
This was out camp site:
We learned some of what worked in cold-weather camping, and some of what didn’t work as well as we would’ve liked.
I can say it was relaxing sitting by a roaring fire reading and hearing the water ever-so-gently lapping at the shore a few feet from us. The night was cold, but our gear was mostly up to it. We need some better techniques. Maybe doing this on a motorcycle and skipping the ferry lanes would be the clincher! :-)
