An update to yesterday’s post about my experience with Newegg…
So, this morning I called up Newegg to work things out. I would take either a $300 price reduction in line with their policy (which they still have yet to explain to me, or change on the web site) or allow me to return an unopened lens without a restocking fee. Either of those would’ve worked; if neither worked I’d escalate to my credit card.
Thankfully for all involved they issued an RMA without the restocking. I have to still work out a bit with a promotional SD card, but that’s almost beside the point.
This time around, Adorama got my business. :-) I’ll have to wait an extra day, but it’s certainly worthwhile in my book. The chance of me using Newegg in the future seems to be going down over time.
