Move on, move on

There are some campaigns on MoveOn.org that I do support. There are more that I think are completely harebrained. One that popped up today in a community group I'm a member of was trying to block trains that bring in coal and oil.Ok, first things first: I agree that we as a planet need to do something to lessen our reliance on fossil fuels. Global warming is a thing. The thing that I think is stupid is trying to unilaterally as a city to suddenly become different. The infrastructure to completely get away from this isn't here yet. This is something that we should work on certainly. But trying to boot a city off the grid -- which is effectively what they're asking for -- is beyond stupid.Given 300,000,000 people in the US, you'll always get some people to agree with you.Blocking trains like this is just a way to get yourself arrested and not really move the discussion forward. Don't just say "I don't like this and it's my way or the highway," go and invest in something that's better. Invent something that's better. Run for office. Do something productive. Crying like a baby isn't solving the problem.I really wish there was a "I don't support this asinine endeavor you're proposing" button on the site.
