I had an interesting conversation at work this week. It was about Eclipse — the free programming tool.
First off let me tell you that Eclipse, in my not so humble opinion, sucks. Eclipse is an epic cluster.
Eclipse, like Eclipse often does, was giving some weird-ass error.
“What’s wrong?” he queried.
“Did you try building from the command line?”
“Let’s try it… there, it built. Eclipse was fucked up again.”
“But it works for me… why did it let me down? I like it…”
“You sound like you have Stockholm Syndrome.”
When all you know is shitty tools, you start getting used to the smell. Eventually you might even like the slime-covered poorly implemented features.
You have come to like your captor.
