EDA

Electronic Design Automation.I've been playing around with some schematic capture and PCB layout software and while I'm working on them I think that I've come to the conclusion that they all kind of suck.Between something like Altium that always is crashing to Eagle where it's a pain the ass the make a real custom footprint that's not just a simple set of pads (see also the footprint of the TPS2561A) I'm not really sure what the right tools are any more. At this point I'm just "evaluating" these things and I wouldn't plonk down cash for any of them that I've tried at this point.I'm still going through the list of software from Wikipedia. <sigh/>So, if anyone's really done any of this before I'd love to get your take on it.
