Slowly and surely I’m trying to be more authentic about who I am in this society. We all are pressured by society to toe the proverbial line.

I’m getting increasingly wary of doing that myself.

The more I think of it the mere act of toeing the line is what is getting between me and the rest of the world. Me trying to acquiesce to what “normal” people do is forcing me to not be me. And that’s a hard place to put myself.

One thing I’ve learned over time is that almost every instance when I’ve let myself be vulnerable I wound up benefiting — even though I was scared each time.

In many ways the idea of toeing the line is the fear of being afraid. That fear keeps you from being you.
