Bawdy

Today Ennie and I (along with a new friend... but that's some other story) went to Bawdy Storytelling. We've been there before -- once. We missed a couple of events they've put on in the past couple of months. Ok, I have to say "she" put on in the past few months. Bawdy is the brainchild of Dixie De La Tour who hails from the Bay area.Taking a step back, the point is to get people -- you know ordinary people -- to get up on stage and share parts of their lives with random strangers. And today was all about sex workers. It's a topic that most people don't really talk about. I'm talking about everything from what you think about as prostitutes, through escorts, dommes, strippers, and cam girls/guys. All would get classified as sex workers by may folks. If they do it's only to lump the whole industry together with sex trafficking. Certainly, it does happen, but that's not the only thing that happens.Today we heard from around half a dozen sex workers. In many ways I'm envious of them for the amount of ownership they have over their own selves. It's an amazing thing to see.But anyway...If Bawdy Storytelling comes to your town, you owe it to yourself to go. Really.  :-)
