Ordering parts and such

I finally pulled the trigger on a pile of parts, tools and such from Digi-Key to start prototyping the USB power supply. In a way this is somewhat anticlimactic since the group I work in at Amazon is only marginally related to devices. When I first conceived of the project we had dozens of various and varied portable devices that all charged from a collection of random USB chargers we had lying around. Now we have a few devices. But I still want to make something. So half of what I ordered are parts directly relating to the charger and test rigs for the charger. I have parts and components to build the prototype of the charger. The other half are random test components. Wires. Jumpers. Sockets. Things to use that aren't completely related to the build. The third half of the parts are just stuff to experiment with. Generally pretty cheap parts... but a collection of various op amps. Timers. Just things to play with.:-)And a few thousand resistors. I can buy one for $0.10. I can but 1,000 for $3.00. Yeah.
