ApplePay vs. The Home Depot

I went to Home Depot today after work (well, after a work function) to pick up some wood filler for the fence. But the fence is another story altogether.I went there last weekend for other parts of the same job and for supplies to start building my lab. Last weekend I used ApplePay to check out and things were good.Today I went back and ApplePay didn't work.I've heard rumors on Reddit that Home Depot decided to turn it off. I had to speak to a manager to voice my concern. Well, I didn't have to, but I rightfully am concerned. This is the same company that had millions of credit cards swiped last year. The beauty of ApplePay is that each vendor gets their own code. The manager said the memo she got was that they disabled ApplePay because they want more security. How come I don't buy that? You have a system that has a proven track record of getting hacked.sighApplePay, as a technology, is secure. It's way more secure than swiped cards since there's less sharing of data between me and the merchant.I don't like Lowes, but they seem to have fewer security issues.Maybe I should just go to the local hardware store instead.
