You know I’ve been finding myself neck deep in microcontrollers lately. I managed to get a compile system based on Eclipse from TI that works (generally) good enough. The downside is that it works only on Windows (so I have to run it in a VM) or if I run it on the Mac it won’t have full functionality.

There’s also the Eclipse bit. I find myself to be terminally allergic to Eclipse. It’s shitty software. It does get the job done, but it’s nowhere as nice as nearly anything else on the market.

So now I’m trying to get a cross-compiling system up and running with CLion from JetBrains (who I love giving money to) as the editor and to do the heavy lifting in terms of the actual writing of the code (and, coincidently, runs great on the Mac) and I can use Code Composer Studio (the TI, Eclipse-based system) running in a VM to do the final debugging. It’s not the ideal-est toolchain, but it should work fine if I manage to get it up and running.

I’ll document what I do if I get it running so others can get it working as well.
