A few days ago Leica announced that it’ll continue their 12% discount on their products sold in the US for another month. This has been going on since around May or so and a few days before it was set to expire, the discount is extended again — now to the end of November. This is starting to border on ridiculous.
All of this is based on a strong dollar compared to a weak euro. This makes our currency able to buy a bit more in Europe.
The fact that this has been going on for over half a year now, however, will make it a bit awkward when they plan on raising the prices again — and I suppose it’ll upset the used market as well. Buy low, sell high!
Ya know, I might just need to get that other lens I want? What’cha say?
