Doing your own work...

I stopped by the Subaru dealership today for my 15,000 mile service for my car. It's not a complicated service, mainly fluids and filters and checks. The biggie (not really) is a tire rotation.$300 later I have the car back.Things like this are why I'm happy to do my own service on the motorcycle. Even though it's simpler for the most part and uses less consumables I'm sure that the service cost would be comparable to the auto service. The only harder part is checking the valve lash, but even that's not really a big deal. It takes a total of half an hour for both sides. (You don't need that on the car since it's hydraulically adjusted)This weekend I'm spending a few hours doing all of the service on the bike... 24,000 miles. And costs around $80 for everything.
