I oftentimes joke that I don’t like people.

I don’t really mean that.

What I do mean is that I can only be involved with large groups of people for a certain period of time before I need a break to recharge. This is a common trait of a lot of introverts. Extroverts are, for the most part, the opposite. Hanging out with others recharges them.

I need to turn off and be able to get back together with my thoughts and some quiet. That’s my recharging.

Sometimes work even is a good source of recharging for me. Solitary work that is.

Odd. But people are different — and I know there’s a bunch of people like me, so I don’t feel alone.

Alone… all together.
