36-ish

(Leica M7, Ilford Delta 400, X-TOL 1:1 7.0min @ 75ºF, Summilux 50mm, f/8, 1/250s)Over lunch, I took a walk. I took with me my M7 loaded up with a roll of Ilford Delta 400. I loaded the film myself so I would have roughly 36 or so frames of unexposed film.I took a walk to Green Lake -- just down the hill from my house. (I was working from home due to the office move)This was the first time I really experienced truly manual exposure for more than a few shots. I liked it.It gives one focus. A limit of 36. A destination of 36.This is in contrast to most digital that I've shot in the past decade-and-a-half. There are no practical limits anymore with digital photography; the frame countdown is normally stuck on "999" since it has run out of digits. There's no urgency to "finish." There's no impetus to think.I just found it interesting to go on a one-roll photo walkabout.
