Length of time

I watched an interesting documentary about film versus digital, Side By Side. As they were showing what the editing room looked like (quite literally the cutting room, complete with the floor).Time, as mere mortals think about it is measured in seconds, minutes, hours, years and so forth. But to someone who was editing film, real film, it's a length of film. A length. The interesting thing is that the measure still lives on in modern non-linear editing systems.A second of film on 35mm (four-perf) is a foot and a half.If you've been doing this for eons, you have a physical sense of how far a minute is.It's 90 feet.
