On the edge

En and I have started to watch Survivorman again -- we found it online on Hulu. It's something that we've watched before, but with new episodes that we've not watched.I realize that as we're watching, the time I was in Lava Beds National Monument I was on the edge. As the trail slowly started to die away it was likely the riskiest position I had placed myself into.I had the Spot messenger so I wasn't completely up a creek if something bad had happened (and I even had charged batteries). As the path got more sparse, and the water bottle grew empty it was a risk. A few wrong steps, a few mistakes, and suddenly I would be in a survival situation. In the desert with no water, no shelter. Rain incoming. Cold. Hot.Sometimes you have to face the fact that you got away with something.
