1584

Looking at the selection of printer paper at the local store got me thinking.Ok, let me take a step back. When I say "printer paper" I'm actually talking about fine art paper that you print on with ink jets. Or, if you want a rant, Giclée, which just means "to spray" in French -- I'll save that for another day.One of the paper companies is Hahnemühle -- a very fine German-sounding name, which is appropriate for the fine German company that it is.But if you look at their logo......you'll plainly see the 1584.The company was founded nearly 450 years ago. There's such a history in some companies... that got me going down the rabbit-hole of Wikipedia's oldest companies. In 1976 the United States celebrated its bicentennial -- 1776 was 200 years previous. Then you see that on the "old company list" it ends at 1699.It gives one some perspective.
