I promised a friend of mine a Nintendo NES Classic for her birthday. Ok, so her birthday was months ago, but we had a deal that when things became “normal” with the supply of the devices that I’d go ahead and get one for her.

Then Nintendo killed it.

Then, as luck would have it, Ars published an article that would get us back to the same end result, but without paying the usurious markups that the eBay sellers are getting. Raspberry Pi + some software. I don’t know why I didn’t really think of this before, but there it is.

So, next up: a small pile of electronics and I’ll build up something even better than the NES Classic!
