Progressive Sex Positivity

I got into an interesting online conversation about sex workers. Specifically prostitutes in Seattle.Taking a step back and looking at the overall political landscape in Seattle we are in a very progressive city. We want to ensure that people have the rights to do what it is that they do.

Except when it comes to things like sex work.

In the same city, we have things like safe injection sites for junkies we simultaneously shut down web sites that aid in the safety of both the sex workers and their clients.

Why? It's weird.

Even though we are in a very permissive city -- we are on the cutting edge of rights for all sorts of people. Gay. Trans. Homeless. Junkies. Thieves.

But we don't allow consenting adults to do what they want to do.

I'm not sure how much of a difference there is between buying someone dinner on a date or just skipping the middle-man and exchange currency directly.

So progressive.
