Step one: complete - On location

A short post about a long drive -- from Seattle to Twin Falls, ID where were are closer to what I hope to be good viewing for the eclipse. I didn't want to do the same thing that the rest of the throngs of people from Seattle will be doing, which is going down to Oregon. We actually overheard people in Seattle who honestly thought that you could only see it in Oregon. I find that kind of weird.

At this point we're around 130 miles as the crow flies from totality, 150 by road give or take. I'm figuring leaving at 5 or 6 in the morning on Monday to get to the spot I've picked out and beat the rush. We're not even going to a city. I'm planning on stopping by the side of a tiny country road in a mountain valley.

More later!
