When you are the size of Amazon and growing at the rate of Amazon you start running into some issues… how does one hire at a pace like we do?

The compound that with the whole HQ2 discussion and you’ll quickly realize that this is a hard problem.

When you are hiring a few people you have one set of problems. My group has right now 10 open positions for programmers. (looking? ping me!) We are one of hundreds of groups — each with open head count.

We’ve gotten to the point where we have on-site interviews without phone screens sometimes… because automating the phone screen saves time I suppose. My newest co-worker barely had an interview… but it scales… I guess.
