Flying (well, simulated at least)

About a week and a half ago there was a guy who stole (not hyjacked, he was an aircraft maintenance/baggage person) a Dash-8 plane from SeaTac.That got me thinking, what would happen if I happened to be in a plane that suddenly needed to get on the ground safely?I flew flight simulators in the past, but it's one of those things that never was overly awesome because my computer, while pretty awesome, wasn't awesome enough.A few months back I got the new god-level iMac Pro (i.e., if it had the option, I checked it on the form. Now I can run X-Plane with most of the detail sliders all of the way up. And it's amazing. Getting good feedback and seeing good detail around you makes things so much easier to fly! There's so much you can see just from seeing where the tree-tops are as you're coming in for a landing.Suffice to say, I was able to land a Cessna 172 (ok, that's almost a gimme) and a Cirrus Vision SF50 (harder) on my first time trying! :-DAnd before you say "oh, that's only a game," you have to understand that the same software, with additional hardware for true motion simulation, is FAA approved for real flight hours!  :-P
