Bent steering damper

I don't have a good picture of this one since the problem is pretty hard to see... but in the crash, one thing that happened is the rod on my steering damper bent.I got the damper after I wrote off the '07 bike from a tank slapper. I put it on my new bike, the bike that's now in the shop. What it does is resist steering inputs the more you try to steer; normally on a bike, the steering inputs are pretty subtle for the most part. The sudden impact of wheel on car was, essentially, the definition of sudden input. It resisted so much that the damper rod, which is solid steel, bent.It likely saved the front sub-frame.
