One of the things I’ve really missed is being surrounded by fireflies in the late spring and early summer. It’s something that was always a given when I was growing up.
I remember learning how to catch them. It’s really easy. Just slowly raise your hand up to them; the moment you and Mr. Firefly touch, he’ll land on you. (Yes, they’re all dudes; the ladies are waiting in the grass looking for a good one.)
One of the cool things about living out here in Nashville is that we are once again in a firefly section of the country.
Looking out the window and seeing them slowly glow against the fading light.
It’s really rather like watching a real-life Disney magic show.
