Fixing a scratch in a space gray iPad

(no pictures since I don't have a before picture and you can't tell anything wrong with the after picture)

Somehow I managed to get a little scratch on the aluminum shell of my iPad. I don't exactly know when it happened, but it happened and it was annoying me. It made a shiny and bright mirror just next to the screen.

I was hunting around and some people mentioned paint. I tried a bit and it was hopeless.

This is the point I remembered I had something for gunsmithing: aluminum black. It's a really nasty liquid; it doesn't look nasty, it's a really nice clear blue liquid, but everything in it wants to kill you. I've had it for ages and fixed bits of problems with my guns over the years. In case anyone wants to buy some, this is the stuff I used: Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black.

I applied a few drops with the tip of a toothpick and in a few seconds it went from being shiny and annoying to being almost undetectable.

I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to fix a scratch in their Apple devices.
