The joy of being bad

No, not bad in the way that you're being naughty. Bad in the sense of "not good at something."

Being bad means that you can get better at it. It means that you can learn something new. When we're young everything is new to us so we get used to being bad. As we grow older we become good at the things we need, which usually are things you learned when you were younger. We're not bad at things any longer.

I got a guitar.

I'm bad at the guitar.

But I'm learning. Learning something new that I don't know. Broadening both my abilities at a skill, but keeping my brain a bit more pliable.

What an amazing gift.
