My view is when people say “Black Lives Matter” with the implied “as well” then it’s fine. But it’s just as fine as saying “Native Lives Matter” or “Chinese Lives Matter.” But people get touchy when you say “White Lives Matter.” If you can’t say the latter without being called a racist, then the implication of “Black Lives Matter” would end with “more than your life.”
Take “Black Lives Matter.” If you replace “Black” with “White” and think “that might be racist…” then the original statement is equally racist.
Or neither are racist.
Or maybe you are a racist?
There can be no middle ground.
Or you could go all in on nihilism and state that “no lives matter.”
This stack ranking of races needs to stop.
