Closing time...

Some time in the mid '80s, I'm thinking '86 or so, my mom and I opened an account at Society Bank with my mom on the corner of Mayfield and Green Roads in South Euclid.

In 1994 the account got a refresh with the merger of Society and Key Banks. They issued a new account number, but it was still the same account with my mom still on it.

In 1999 I married En.

In 2012 or 2013 my mom dropped off the account and En got added.

Last Friday the 34-year-old account was closed. Since Key doesn't have any local branches it made banking with them hard and they were charging us $7 for the privilege of having the account open earning them interest.

It's been a good run.
