Radio: Arrived. Antennas: On the UPS truck.

Things are kinda set up.The new radio is unpacked and the mic plugged in. The power supply is supplying power. I can hear the occasional CQ in CW on the lower bands. The real problem is that I lack a real antenna.I have a stupid random wire attached to the antenna port. Now a random wire doesn't work very well at all since it's a completely untuned thing.I'm able to hit the repeater in Chardon with it better than the HT. I'm guessing the antenna works -- kinda. The antennas I'm talking about are the GAP Titan and the Comet GP-15. The GAP does everything between 80 and 10m. The Comet has 6m, 2m and 70cm.The next big question for me is weather. I think I can put the Comet into the attic since I don't want to climb up on the roof to chimney-mount it. The bigger issue is all the snow. I have to drive in a 1-1/2" steel pipe into the ground to support the GAP. I guess I have to wait for a thaw for that happen. The Comet antenna is almost 8 feet long. I'm hoping I can wedge that in.CQ FOC AA3B[smugmug url="http://photos.vec.com/hack/feed.mg?Type=gallery&Data=15737105_Fw2eV&format=rss200" imagecount="100" start="1" num="100" thumbsize="Th" link="lightbox" captions="false" sort="true" window="true" smugmug="true" size="L"]
