Seattle Restaurant Review: Martino's

Today after work Ennie and I decided to try a relatively new restaurant nearby. The thing that took the place of a vegan shoe store was a smoked meat shop. Oh, the irony. Both of us got the special of the day which was smoked pork ribs, some garlic green beans and some mac and cheese. The cost for each special was $13. Each of us also got a $5 Manny's Pale Ale to wash it down.Honestly the ribs were good. It was nicely dry smoked and some good sauce came on the side. Unfortunately I only got four ribs. The beans were tasty, but again, it looked like I got something like 15 or so strings of beans. The mac and cheese was passable at best -- though Ennie thinks I'm being too generous with that assessment.View Larger MapFor the two of us without tip the total came of $39.42. At that price I felt ripped off. This felt like I was getting a lunch portion but paying dinner prices. I would have been happy paying between $8 and $9 for the special, but even then I would've expected a bit more mac and cheese which seems like filler-quality anyway. The food was good, but not good enough for the price. Even with better food I shouldn't leave hungry.Good, but not great. Not good enough that I'll likely go back. A definite "meh," even though I was really looking forward to going.
