F1 Meetup

Last night Ennie and I went to a bar way far off -- you know, Redmond. It was a nice little English pub with English-y things going on. Football was on the telly when we walked in the door -- the Sounders had unfortunately lost the game. (Soccer for all the folks on the other side of the pond since we were, of course, transported to England)We came to watch the F1 race live from Australia. While the low audio level could leave something to be desired, I do have to say that watching a race not in my living room but with a group of people that are also just as into it is pretty awesome. While the race wasn't all that exciting except for the first couple of laps, the experience was pretty damn cool. The race? One team, Manor, didn't start. A couple of drivers didn't make the grid on the out lap from the pits. Both of the Lotus drivers retired in the first couple of lap. This led the race to be fought by only 14 drivers after the initial laps. By the time it was over only 11 cars managed to finish the race in a battle of attrition.Such is the way with a new car.
