Tearing down

Yesterday I was writing about the blind alley I went down from a programming perspective.

Today I broke my site.

For most of today it wasn't working because I tore down a lot of the infrastructure that was keeping it working.

But this does get to a pretty good thing to talk about. I'm quite sure that my original plan would've worked in the end. The problem was that it would've been horribly inefficient in the long run. Most of the people I was working with at various jobs would've soldiered on and made it work.

The problem is that "working" isn't something that I'm looking for -- it's working properly that's important.

Today was a day well spent making things work the way they should.
