CHAZ/CHOP - Aftermath

Few people have the courage to say "I fucked up" or "we fucked up."

It's far easier to blame someone else. Almost everyone in history has had their scapegoat to point at: "they are the problem." "They" has been used over time to variously talk about the jews, the Irish, the Italians, the blacks, the Mexicans, the Chinese, the Romani, the Russians, the Republicans, the Democrats... you name it, they've been the scapegoat. Sometimes even inanimate objects are the subjects of scorn.

This type of talk rarely leads to a constructive end.

In this case, it's pretty clear what happened. When left to their own devices they royally screwed the pooch by being an embarrassment to their own ideals, very quickly becoming what they purported to be against.

Of course, they're not to blame... the perfect system just had a few bugs to work out. This wasn't real CHAZ/CHOP, that has yet to be tried.

All sorts of social theories and experiments have been thought up. But upon implementation, you fall back to the old saying: "it's all fun and games until someone gets hurt."

Protesters: man/woman up to this and own the fact that you fucked up, and maybe consider what lead up to this.
