Email Bankruptcy
No, I'm not declaring it... but it's an interesting concept.I was listening to Fresh Air on NPR and they were interviewing Biz Stone, one of the co-founders of Twitter.Obviously I've used Twitter in the past. But it's interesting to hear Biz's take on it. It's a medium where you're not expecting a reply back. If you get one that's great, but it's more a surprise than anything.Email on the other hand is different. If you send an email you expect a response. Now.Then you ignore the email. Then it just ages. Then, "now" is no longer now. It's long past. That's when he declares "email bankruptcy" and deletes the whole lot."If you're expecting something back from me, please resend your original email."I'm not that bad. But I can relate.I did recently go through my mail and archive 99% of it. If something needs a response I just starred it. Maybe I'll get to it. :-)
