You know by now that our storage unit was broken into a few weeks back. Our plan at the moment is to unload the unit ASAP, but that causes the other problem of having all the boxes in out house. Our house, while awesome in many ways, really lacks any storage space. All of the square footage is finished and that leaves very little space to be able to put something away for later.Back to the plan though -- we want to replace the old play house which wasn't really intended for storage, but rather for play, with a bigger structure. The playhouse is a 8'x12' outbuilding with a tall, but very steeply peaked roof. It has some space that we can use for storage, but it quickly runs out of steam. Also, since the roof is so steeply peaked, there might be some available space going up, but it's very narrow. What we'd like to do is build a bigger 12'x12' building with a door wide enough to get a motorcycle through. (Along with a floor sturdy enough to support it as well) On top of that, literally, we'd like a second half-story for just plain storage. Here's what we're looking for:
- Bigger space - 12'x12'
- Door wide enough for motorcycle
- Easily accessible second floor loft that's at least 4-5' tall with a solid floor
- Lots of shelving and hooks for tools and gardening equipment
- Dry space inside so things stored are not ruined
- Well lit to be able to work on a motorcycle at night
- Aesthetically should coordinate with the house
- Proper ventilation, like a window
- 60A 240V hookup (to run potential industrial gear like a big compressor or a welding rig)
