Metal Detecting

I saw a program on BBC by one of the hosts of Top Gear: James May. There was something about metal detecting and for some reason (as I seem to be quite apt to do it turns out) I went down the rabbit hole.I got a great rig locally from someone on Craig's List and I started going to town with it.But then I stopped.As I was wandering on the beach at Golden Gardens I think I had the ah-ha moment.Here I am, in a beautiful place that simply begs to be taken in, appreciated, and enjoyed. I was wearing headphones and staring at the sand, occasionally digging up a bottle cap from the sand.It sat in my office for a while after that...Now it'll go back on Craig's List (or similar) and I'll hopefully get back more-or-less what I had put in originally.
