Broken Magic

Systems that “just work” with no explanation as to how they work are dangerous. As long as the magic works, everything is amazing. The issue is that when the magic stops working — for whatever reason — there’s no way to fix it. You just have to randomly try things until something might work.

Make sure that the stuff you build is understandable. Being able to hide how something functions doesn’t make you smart, it’s rather the opposite.
